Project Overview

The City of Valley City is conducting a transportation study in the area south of I-94, between exits 292 and 294. This study is an update to the city's 2045 Transportation Plan. The city is looking at how this area is growing now and will continue to grow into the future. The study will provide guidance for future development and roadway access.

FAQs

A transportation plan is a guide that helps a city figure out how to improve and manage its transportation system. It considers traffic, safety, and future growth to ensure the needs of the community are being meet now and into the future. The plan will identify solutions for short-term and long-term implementation.

The current Transportation Plan was adopted in 2019. Since then, new developments like Love's Truck Stop have affected traffic in the study area. The City wants to understand the current and future conditions to create a plan that will guide future development and roadway access.

The City will utilize the plan to help guide future development, update policies, and prioritize funding for future roadway and infrastructure projects.

Gathering input from stakeholders and the public is a crucial part of the plan.
