The Oglala Sioux Tribe is updating their Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to assess transportation issues and needs of the current transportation system. The updated LRTP will provide guidance and recommendations for a modernized, safe, multimodal system that will improve roads and pedestrian and bicycle facilities, to enhance the community's overall economic growth, resilience, and quality of life.

Additionally, the Oglala Sioux Tribe is conducting a Transportation Vulnerability Assessment (TVA) focused on transportation resilience efforts related to impacts on the transportation system caused by natural hazard events, and consideration of evacuation routes and how the existing transportation system supports the routes, and to provide a basis for future transportation improvement programming that is sustainable.

The project team will utilize community and stakeholder feedback to help determine and implement future transportation and transit needs for both the LRTP and the TVA.
